Styles where art meets fashion: My avant-garde journey with Moretta
Fashion, to me, has always been more than clothing. It’s emotion. It’s storytelling. It’s art in motion. Through Staceylees Boutique and my fashion label Moretta, I create pieces that live somewhere between romance and rebellion, softness and strength, elegance and edge. Every gown, every hair sculpture, every photoshoot is treated as a living artwork. From fine art to fashion fantasy, my creative journey began in the world of visual arts. I spent over twenty years working across mixed media, conceptual design, exhibitions, and teaching, building a deep understanding of form, texture, emotion, and storytelling. After completing my Degree in Visual Arts, I realised fashion was simply another canvas. I didn’t leave art behind. I expanded it. Fabric became my paint. Hair became my sculpture. The human form became my gallery space.
The Moretta signature: Romance with an edge
My designs are not traditional, and they’re not meant to be safe. I blend flowing romantic silhouettes with bold contouring and dramatic structure, alongside avant-garde hair artistry and cinematic, story-driven styling. My style is often described as 'raunchy romance couture', where softness meets power and beauty meets boldness. From ethereal garden gowns to gritty graffiti couture, I love exploring contrast and emotion through fashion. Building a brand with purpose, through my online boutique, custom collections, and gown rentals, I currently generate around $25,000 a year, while continuing to expand my creative reach. But Moretta is about so much more than sales. My vision is runway. Not just showcasing clothes, but creating immersive fashion experiences where hair, makeup, music, and storytelling become one powerful performance. Runway, for me, is art in motion.

My work is deeply personal. As a single mother of five who has navigated hardship, creativity became my strength and my way forward.
